The Chrisleys will be released from prison sooner than originally anticipated. Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were initially sentenced to 12 and seven years, respectively, will now serve reduced sentences with over a year less for each of them.

Based on information from federal prison records obtained by Page Six, the father of five is set to be released from the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola on January 22, 2023, which is two years earlier than his original 12-year sentence. As for his wife, the records indicate that Julie is expected to be released from the Federal Medical Center Lexington on October 19, 2028, which is 14 months earlier than her original seven-year sentence.

The couple’s lawyer, Jay Surgent, informed Insider on Thursday that it is clear that Todd and Julie have been exemplary prisoners who received overly long sentences. Todd is currently serving a 10-year sentence, and Julie’s sentence has been reduced to five years. Surgent also mentioned that he anticipates further reductions in Chrisley’s sentences because of new sentencing guidelines set to be implemented in November.

Accusations made on the Chrisley stars

Todd, aged 54, and Julie, aged 50, began serving their prison sentences in Florida and Kentucky in January. This occurred two months following their convictions for fraud and tax evasion. The prosecutors said that the reality TV couple, who have been married for over 20 years, lied to banks when they applied for loans by using fake documents. They also claimed that Julie gave false credit reports and bank statements when she was trying to rent a house in California.

Moreover, Todd’s former business partner, Mark Braddock, said that Todd, from the show, “Chrisley Knows Best”, had an affair with him, and they gave money to someone trying to blackmail them to keep this alleged relationship secret. In June 2022, the Chrisleys were found guilty, and five months later, they were sentenced to a total of 19 years in prison.

This punishment makes it clear that regardless of how famous someone is, there will be serious penalties for cheating the American tax system, stated James E. Dorsey, who leads the IRS Criminal Investigation Atlanta field office, in a press release following the November 2022 sentencing.

Todd and Julie have three kids together: Chase, aged 27, Savannah, aged 26, and Grayson, aged 17. Todd also has two older children, Lindsie, aged 33, and Kyle, aged 32, with his ex-wife Teresa Terry.

Additionally, the couple adopted Kyles’s daughter, Chloe, aged 10, after Kyle, who was recovering from addiction, lost custody of her in 2016. When Todd and Julie started serving their prison sentences, Savannah took care of Chloe and her younger brother, Grayson. Chloe’s mom, Angela Johnson, is now working to regain custody of Chloe.
