Portia Robinson will soon have a rude awakening on General Hospital

When she hears what Curtis, Laura, and others have to say she will find she is all alone in her feelings.

Portia is about to be outnumbered

Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) has been on the late show regarding all things Cassadine from the moment she was first seen on General Hospital. She had not had interactions with the family and only heard about their escapades but spoke harshly of them all. She initially did not desire Trina Robinson (Tabana Ali) to be friends with Ava Cassadine (Maura West) and she detested Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Haus). She did not want Trina with Spencer Cassadine (Nikolas Chaves) but she did have good reason to distrust Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

Spencer and Trina have grown closer due to their ordeal on the Haunted Star, looking out for Baby Ace (Jay and Joey Clay) and their fear of dying at the hands of Victor. Spencer was beaten, survived an explosion, and possible drowning and the duo are more committed to each other than ever before. Laura Collins (Genie Francis), Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stewart), and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) have all seen firsthand the love and devotion Sprina has for one another and will no doubt sing their praises.

Those returning from Greenland will return to Port Charles forever changed

Portia will be excited on Thursday to have her daughter home but she is not going to like what she hears from those who return from Greenland. Last week Portia was badmouthing Spencer to Liz Webber (Elizabeth Herbst) who understands the complexities of the young man. The only person in Port Charles who might agree with her that Spencer should stay away from Trina might be Marcus Taggert (Real’ Andrews) who returned on Wednesday. He admitted that he believed Spencer was trouble but was not as anxious as Portia to wipe him from their daughter’s memory

Like Portia Taggert does not know the Cassadines firsthand and has a harsh impression of Spencer. Trina is in love, over 18 and she is standing by her man. Their near-death experience has given them an unshakable bond but Portia and Taggeert may not want to hear it. There has been no DNA test to determine who is really Trina’s bio dad and Taggert said no matter what he would always be her father but he is human and will be jealous of the new bond between Curtis and Trina because of their adventure.

Sprina will shine

Curtis, Trina, Spencer, and Laura literally worked together to save the world but all Portia and possibly Taggert will see is that Cassadines are trouble and almost cost Trina her life. Curtis will be honest and share how Spencer was willing to die for Trina but right now Portia does not want to hear it. She has already told several people that she was going to keep her daughter far away from the man she loves. Marcus told Portia now is not the time to address the issue but whenever they do they will be outnumbered and even Laura might put in a good word for her grandson.

Portia will be thankful for every one who assisted in bringing her daughter home and will get a rude awakening when no one agrees with her that Spencer is bad news. Trina is an adult and can make her own decisions and if Portia and Marcus badmouth Spencer to her they will alienate her. Laura and Curtis and even Valentin watched Spencer evolve in a time of desperation. He morphed from a spoiled entitled teen into a man who risked all for his baby brother and the woman he loves.

General Hospital viewers have been saying they are tired of Portia always complaining and her lying about Trina’s bio dad should have shown her that she has issues as well. It’s true that what she did is not on the level of the Cassadine drama but it’s time she let the bitterness go and allow Trina to grow up. Marcus tried to warn her that she will push her daughter away if she goes after Spencer but Portia was too wound up to pay attention.

She is worried that Spencer will want Trina to help him take Ace from Esme Prince ( Avery Kristan Pohl) and help him raise the child. Taggert pointed out that they cannot tell their daughter what to do and if she does not listen she will lose the progress they have made and the Greenland adventure will lead to her Trina being closer to Curtis whether he is her father or not. Sprina is going to shine whether Portia or Marcus like it or not.
