During an appearance on granddaughter Lindsie Chrisley’s The Southern Tea podcast, Nanny Faye shared her plans for the Thanksgiving holiday.

“I’m going to have Thanksgiving dinner with some friends down in Florida,” said the Chrisley Knows Best alum. “They’ve invited me, some close friends that I’ve had for about 17 years. So I’m going to have dinner with them.”

Undeterred by the less-than-festive spirit looming over the family’s first holiday season while Todd and his wife Julie are in prison, Nanny Faye still plans to incorporate some quality time with Todd. “I’m going to visit my son,” she affirmed. “We have never been apart. He’s [54] years old and we have never been away at Thanksgiving. So, I’m gonna make it my business to be there on Thanksgiving.”

This marks Nanny Faye’s first Thanksgiving without Todd, but she’s still finding a way to be thankful for what she does have.

“We just have to say that God’s not gonna put more on us than we can bear. Have I got a heavy heart? I most certainly do, but I cannot let the devil win,” she explained. “I’ll kick that can on right down the road … but I’m going to visit my son, wish I could visit my daughter-in-law. But, her parents will be visiting her.”

She continued, “We’re gonna try to rejoice as much as we can, because things that we don’t have no control over, we can’t do anything about. I have to make the best of it. So, I’m going down that road by myself. I’ll get to visit, I’ll get to give him a hug. But I’m sure we’re not gonna have no good Thanksgiving dinner like we’re accustomed to.”

Todd and Julie were sentenced in November 2022 to a combined 19 years in prison for fraud but began appealing their case the following month. Since reporting to prison in January, their sentences have been reduced.

Earlier this week, the couple’s daughter Savannah Chrisley gave a major update on the ongoing appeal.
“As you know, we are spending Thanksgiving a little different this year, because I wasn’t going to fake it. I wasn’t going to do the traditional Thanksgiving we’re always used to,” Savannah, 26, said in the emotional clip, set to “Goodness of God” by CeCe Winans. “But I got a call this morning and the appeals court has granted our oral arguments. So, I literally was sobbing. It is one step closer to getting mom and dad home.”
