It’s been a hard year for the Chrisleys. Todd and Julie Chrisley went to prison. Savannah got custody of her younger brother and niece. And the children had to spend some holidays without their parents. But there was some good news for the Chrisley Knows Best family.

Attorney Jay Surgent had revealed that Todd and Julie’s hearing appeal had progressed. The duo had the new hearing date in March. But now there is some new development, which is not good news.

Savannah Chrisley had called it a “Thanksgiving win” when Todd and Julie’s appeal had progressed. The whole family celebrated the amazing news. Savannah had even thanked God for it. But now, Attorney Jay Surgent revealed some upsetting news about the appeal.

Fans learned that the Chrisley Knows Best couple got a new hearing date. The hearing was scheduled for March but will now happen in April. In fact, Jay told RadarOnline that the specific date is April 15, 2023, and will take place in Atlanta. The month-long delay had upset the family a little, but they are still holding “hope.” So, the appeal won’t be held before the holidays.

Regarding Todd’s reaction, Jay said he “wasn’t happy”. But Jay did add that Todd was “content with the oral argument.” According to RadarOnline.com, the Chrisleys “hope” the judge will consider “reverse(ing)” Todd and Julie’s sentences. But the family is still sad that they won’t be home for Christmas this year.

For Savannah, this will be the first Christmas without her parents. But the Chrisley Knows Best star still has some holiday plans. Jay had talked about the kids planning a Christmas visit to their parents. But they’ll have to visit Todd and Julie separately as the couple is kept apart in different prisons.

The Chrisley Knows Best star had a lot of growing up to do this year. Not only did her parents go to prison, but she also got custody of her younger brother and niece. But more hardships are in store for her since this will be her first Christmas without her parents.

However, the family’s attorney revealed that Savannah is planning something. She and the kids will visit Todd and Julie in prison for Christmas. Jay revealed that the kids are excited “to get together” for the holiday. In fact, they don’t mind meeting their parents in the “institution.”

Savannah Chrisley will host Christmas morning at the family home. Though her parents won’t be there, their grandparents will be joining the kids. And even if Todd can’t be home, he might still get festive food. Reports suggest that the prison has baked ham and turkey on the menu for the inmates.
