General Hospital Spoilers: Cyrus Isn’t Mason’s Boss — Sonny’s Former Father-In-Law Is!

According to General Hospital spoilers, rumors about Mason Gatlin’s (Nathaniel Grey) potential employer are rife, and Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) keeps cropping up. Late in the game, Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini) entered Mason’s web of deceit, and it is obvious that she is not Mason’s puppet.

Fans are still curious about who she is, where she is from, and whether she has been part in this plan throughout because of her sudden presence.

Many viewers were starting to suspect Cyrus could be the boss man behind Betty, Mason, and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth), but a new theory has emerged that may make more sense.

Longtime GH fans know Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) made enemies with Hernando Rivera (Ismael ‘East’ Carlo) over 27 years ago.

The final straw that caused Hernando to arrange a hit on Sonny resulted in his newly pregnant wife getting trapped in an explosion intended for him. Marrying Hernando’s daughter was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Some followers continue to believe that she and her child are still alive. Could Betty, now an adult and bitter, be that child?

Could her boss be Hernando, her grandfather, who is returning to complete the task he began with Sonny?

Cyrus is a Changed Man?

Many viewers continue to claim they do not trust Cyrus, despite his continued insistence that he has discovered God and changed his ways.

In a GH storyline, waiting for the other shoe to drop may be a long process, but it will be worthwhile to see if Chris emerges from hiding to confess that he was the one who had been playing pranks on Sonny and his daughter’s safety all along.

But something tells us Cyrus may not be quite honest; he appears to be doing business with others rather than Sonny these days.

GH Spoilers Reveal Betty Isn’t the Boss

Some fans have been chattering that Betty may actually be the boss, but we’ve more or less seen confirmation that she isn’t at this point.

If she was, she wouldn’t be taking orders from Mason — especially given how irritated she seems to be with the guy.

Early in this storyline, Austin frequently alluded to Mason’s boss being a woman, but that changed recently when Mason made repetitive mention of his boss as a male figure. But who?

Hernando Could Be Pulling Strings

When the vehicle bomb Hernando Rivera (Ismael ‘East’ Carlo) planted for his then-son-in-law Sonny actually killed his daughter Lily Corinthos (Lilly Melgar) and an unborn grandson, he was horrified.

While it is known that Sonny killed him a year later, some fans have suggested that GH may choose to erase that event from the past in order to bring him back, much like they did with Reese Marshall (Kari Wuhrer) after Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) moved to Jacksonville.

Whoever is hiding behind Mason has a vested interest in bringing Sonny down, seizing his territory, and wiping out his family.

Hernando wouldn’t be a youngster anymore, but it makes sense that even after all these years, he would still hold Sonny responsible for his daughter’s murder.
