Will Alaskan Bush People’s Joshua “Bam Bam” Brown Face Charges For Fatal Car Accident?

Joshua “Bam Bam” Brown was involved in a car accident that was fatal to two other people involved.

Alaskan Bush People attracts many viewers because of its interesting premise and the bizarre behaviors of the cast. But many of the real-life events the family experiences are either not mentioned at all on camera, or are creatively edited for the benefit of the show.

For example, Joshua “Bam Bam” Brown survived a car accident that was fatal for the other two people involved, but little information has been shared about the event. Viewers can only assume that the Discovery Channel series will incorporate the accident into Bam Bam’s storyline somehow in later episodes. But the production timeline means that in the meantime, fans have to get their information elsewhere if they want to know what the family is up to.

In May 2022, a headline announced that Joshua Brown had survived a bad car accident and had been hospitalized. Few news outlets picked up on the event, however, and Joshua himself doesn’t seem to have spoken up about it.

A Chevrolet Camaro reportedly crashed head-first into Brown’s pickup truck as he drove on a highway in Washington state, a few miles from the reality series’ filming location.

Officials stated that the vehicles hit corners; Bam’s truck was mostly damaged on the front driver’s side, while the Camaro’s front passenger area was severely impacted.

In fact, the entire passenger side of the Camaro appears damaged, in photos from the scene, though it’s unclear how much damage occurred to the front of the vehicle or the driver’s side.

The driver of the Camaro survived the accident, though her condition was not updated immediately following the incident. Her passenger, sadly, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Bam Bam was hospitalized for minor injuries but was later discharged, per The Sun. Other publications noted it was unclear whether Bam had been released.

Reports of the accident do not indicate that Brown had any passengers when he crashed.

Was Bam Bam At Fault For The Fatal Accident?

According to reports following the accident, Joshua Brown was not at all at fault in the incident. Apparently, the driver of the Camaro lost control of her vehicle and careened into Brown’s lane.

Joshua tried to avoid the collision by veering off the roadway.

In photos of the aftermath, Bam’s truck came to rest in a ditch, while the Camaro was photographed in the middle of the highway with severe damage. The car appeared to have spun around, coming to rest facing away from Bam’s truck and straddling the center highway line.

A local news station pointed out that initial reports didn’t indicate whether alcohol or drugs were at play in the incident. At that time, the driver was in the hospital receiving treatment.

A later report, unfortunately, confirmed that in addition to the Camaro passenger, the driver of the vehicle later succumbed to her injuries.

Gabbriella Garcia Harrison was 28 years old; her passenger, Lorena Martinez Gonzales, was 24. Both women resided in Washington state.

Will Alaskan Bush People Air Details About Bam Bam’s Accident?

It’s long been assumed that many elements of Alaskan Bush People are fake, if not heavily edited, at the very least. So it’s possible that Bam Bam’s accident will either be skipped entirely, or edited to seem worse or not as bad as it really was (depending on the network’s goals).

In the past, some events have been glossed over by Discovery, like Bear Brown’s domestic violence arrest, while issues like Snowbird’s surgeries and health concerns have a lot of air time.

Given their track record, it’s unclear whether the powers that be at Alaskan Bush People will air anything related to Bam’s car accident. However, the delay between filming and the release of each episode could mean Bam’s story will be shared in an upcoming episode.

As of publication time, it doesn’t appear that Joshua Brown posted on social media about the accident, either. This could indicate that Discovery has plans for it later in the season, or possibly that they won’t be incorporating it at all.

At least this incident involving the Browns isn’t something any of them caused, in contrast to their “stupid disaster” track record on camera.

While it was likely difficult for Bam Bam to walk away from the accident knowing that two people perished, it seems unlikely that he’ll discuss it, given how private he’s been in the past. However, fans can still hope he’ll open up and share.
