'American Pickers' is headed to North Carolina and they want to pick your antiques

In the words of Paul Revere, “The American Pickers are coming! The American Pickers are coming!”

And, well, that’s exactly the warning shouted by the horse-riding harbinger at the outset of the American Revolution. But it is true the long-running History channel series “American Pickers” is coming to North Carolina for the first time in five years and its titular antique hunters are looking for collections to pick.

The series, hosted by Antique Archaeology owner Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, will be in the state in mid-March and its producer, Cineflix, has put out a call for potential collections to feature.

For those who haven’t followed the now decade-old show, it features Wolfe and Fritz traveling the country’s back roads looking to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way, the Pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items, and hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life. While filming, they also spotlight the colorful histories of the towns they visit.

Do you have a collection of antiques, vintage items, American memorabilia, and rare and hard-to-find treasures? Then the show wants to hear from you.

“We’re looking for anything vintage, rusty and fun stuff like that the guys have found on the show for years,” said Maggie Kissinger, an associate producer with Cineflix, which produces the show. “We are looking for interesting collections with interesting stories. Things you don’t see every day.”

The show only picks private collections, so stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public are not eligible.

nyone interested in sharing their collection with the show should call 1-855-OLD-RUST (653-7878), or email Cineflix at [email protected].

If the show finds interesting local collections to pick through, this will be the first time the Pickers have been in the Tar Heel State in years.

The last time they visited was in 2016, when Wolfe and Fritz picked collections in Coats (Harnett County) and Forest City (Rutherford County). They have also visited Salisbury, Waynesville, Hamptonville and Concord in previous seasons.
