In the early 2000s, Todd Chrisley, the patriarch of Chrisley Knows Best, reportedly had a secret relationship with his male business partner for almost a year. And now his wife, Julie Chrisley, has opened up about this. As part of the three-year-old bank and tax run litigation involving the reality TV family, former Chrisley employee Mark Braddock asserted the allegation in court on May 25th. Mark told the FBI that he committed bank fraud on behalf of Todd, his wife Julie Chrisley, and himself, and that even after their adulterous relationship ended, he still harbored feelings for Todd. Julie Chrisley claims that Mark was infatuated with Todd and was given immunity from punishment following the falling out between the two men in 2012. Todd and Julie are now accused of the fraud after Mark reportedly told investigators about it.

Reality TV star Todd Chrisley has made a name for himself by portraying himself as a devoted Christian, a caring dad, and a devoted husband to his wife. The flawless exterior, however, was recently shattered by the claims that he had an illicit relationship with a former male business associate who also alleged that he helped him commit fraud with his wife of 26 years, Julie Chrisley, and their five children: Lindsay, Kyle, Chase, Savannah, and Grayson. Todd has portrayed himself as a dedicated parent, committed to raising a family with impeccable manners and solid morals in his USA Network series Chrisley Knows Best. However, that picture-perfect family is falling apart now that Todd and his wife are being tried for bank fraud and tax evasion of up to two million dollars.

For your information, Chrisley Knows Best is a popular American reality show that airs on the USA Network. Todd Chrisley, a real estate mogul in Georgia, and his affluent family are at the center of it. The show’s actions previously took place in Roswell and Alpharetta, both close to Nashville, Tennessee. During the fourth season, Atlanta, a spin-off centered on Chase and Savannah Chrisley called Growing Up Chrisley debuted in 2019.

A real estate magnate, Michael Todd Chrisley, sometimes known as Todd, was found guilty in June 2022 of federal bank fraud and tax evasion charges that entailed obtaining false loans to pay for a luxury lifestyle. His family views him as being overbearing, often angry, and frequently unreasonable. Todd tries to avoid things like dirt and animals because he has a fear of germs. After being born in Georgia, Todd was raised in Westminster, South Carolina. Before being hitched to Julie in 1996, he was previously married to Teresa Terry, his high school sweetheart. He has three kids with Julie and two with Teresa. Many of the quips, caustic remarks, and rhyming proverbs he used to respond to his family’s shenanigans are repeated throughout the series and appear on series merchandise. Todd claimed to have accepted long-standing untrue allegations that he’s gay. “I’m delighted that people believe I can snag both sides of the bed.”

Todd Chrisley’s wife, Julie Chrisley, who likes to cook, was also found guilty of federal bank fraud and tax evasion charges in June 2022. Julie Chrisley participated in bank fraud to get loans to support an opulent lifestyle. After her first marriage to her high school sweetheart, Julie now has two husbands, Todd being the second. She’s the daughter of a Baptist pastor and is from South Carolina as well. Chase, Savannah, and Grayson are the three children she has with Todd. She also appears in the online series What’s Cooking with Julie Chrisley, which debuted on the USA Network website. The family appears to have retained their enormous fan following as their series continued to air even as they dealt with the concerns about Todd’s behavior. Todd has since been chastised for being controlling and striving for perfection in the program throughout the years. However, Todd and Julie were charged with the theft of 2 million dollars in 2019, which renewed questions about their clean southern reputation. He and his spouse may spend up to 30 years in jail after being charged with one felony of conspiracy to commit bank fraud.

In addition to that, according to Business Insider, Mark Braddock said that he and Tom had been intimate for about a year in the early 2000s during his testimony in the Chrisley’s current federal fraud trial in Atlanta. What was actually revealed by Mark Braddock? Todd and Mark allegedly filed false bank reports and avoided paying 2 million dollars in taxes as part of their scheme. Business Insider claimed that the two got into personal arguments in 2012, several years after their relationship ended. Todd allegedly threatened to have Mark put in jail and locked Mark out of his job. A vengeful Mark sent damaging information about the Chrisleys to the press and police as a tip-off about the scam.

The USA Network reality show’s actors are currently facing charges of tax evasion and defrauding banks by representing themselves as wealthier than they were. Mark, who was given immunity from prosecution, admitted to helping the husband and wife conduct bank fraud. He said that in exchange for a sizable payoff, he produced certain bogus documents and then submitted them to banks. He even acknowledged imitating Todd during phone calls purportedly with Todd’s permission. But when Todd and Mark started receiving anonymous text messages threatening to expose them for fraud and make their illicit relationship public, the scheme seemed to be coming undone. The text instructed them to pay cash and will quiet up, according to Mark’s testimony, and they did just that. Mark said that he made four withdrawals from the company account totaling around ten thousand dollars each. After that, he allegedly ran to Todd in a parking garage and gave him the cash in a tiny bag to pay the blackmailer.

Todd Chrisley has previously denied gay allegations. In contrast, Todd Chrisley’s attorney presented a different image during closing arguments. Bruce Morris, an attorney, called Mark Braddock’s depiction of Todd Chrisley extortion and an affair fantasy. In reality, he went on to say that Braddock, who was already acknowledged lying under oath, was the one who gave the government the papers that appeared to link Todd and Julie Chrisley to bank fraud schemes. According to a comment from Bruce Morris, Mark Braddock is the epitome of reasonable doubt. The case becomes even more complicated when Assistant U.S. Direct Attorney Thomas Krep, who has also been charged with impersonating Todd Chrisley and other people over the phone and lying to the FBI, seems to concur with this closing statement, saying you shouldn’t believe Mark Braddock. He asserted, however, that the Chrisleys and the bank fraud charges records spoke for themselves.

Although there were major outbursts and internet sensations throughout the Chrisley’s trials, the case started on Friday and the jury began deliberating. Five charges of bank fraud, one count of tax fraud, and one count each of conspiracy to conduct bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States have been brought against Todd and Julie Chrisley. But that’s not all. Perhaps the Chrisley couple’s relationship is also falling apart, say many. But is that true? Since their union in 1996, Todd and Julie have been parents to three kids. Todd has two kids with Teresa Terry, his ex-wife. The family’s been featured on their well-known reality show Chrisley Knows Best since 2014.

Since Todd’s sudden rise to fame, there’s been much discussion about his sexual orientation. The real estate magnate, however, has always denied LGBTQ rumors, even referring to them as flattering. In the Dominic Nadi Show in 2017, he said, “For it to disappoint me, it would suggest that I don’t agree with someone being homosexual. I don’t think that’s a decision you make. I think God formed you just the way you are. I’m flattered that people believe I can get laid on both ends.” Todd added, “I’m thrilled that as many guys desire my husband as there are ladies,” his wife Julie remarked. “That being said, he will never experience a drought.”
